That’s a minor flaw in a very fine documentary. Then again, as we say, we may well have missed it. It would have been nice to have seen that acknowledged, perhaps in the credits. Collins is an emotional man and clearly it pained him to think of what happened to the star and driving force of the Redeem Team.Īs far as we saw, and we might well have missed it, that was the only allusion to Bryant’s tragic passing in a 2020 helicopter accident. He says he realized that Kobe was close by him and then stopped speaking. There is a scene near the end where Doug Collins says he recently took out a photo of the celebration after winning gold where someone, finally, put a gold medal around his neck since he, and the entire US team, was robbed in Munich in 1972. Obviously there is a lot of Coach K in this film and some of it is, uh, uncensored. The amazing thing is the reactions his teammates had. It’s not a slight thing, either: he really did deck him and you can see that Gasol is just shocked: WTF, Kobe? The video is amazing because he really does -and Gasol was a Lakers teammate he really liked and admired. The most stunning scene was when he told his teammates he was going to basically deck Pau Gasol on the first play when the US played Spain. This was something that Chris Paul had to come to terms with as well because as the Duke-Wake thing was extremely heated when he was a Demon Deacon.Ī lot of the documentary talked about how the late Kobe Bryant was the driving force behind the team, how he simply picked it up by the force of his will and legendary work ethic and raised his teammates to a higher level. LeBron James popped up shortly afterwards to talk about how he couldn’t stand Coach K and Duke when he was growing up. Jerry Colangelo talked about his process as head of USA Basketball, including what led him to pick Mike Krzyzewski as the next coach. It started with the 2004 Olympic team and all the issues it had before turning to the people and events who led to gold four years later. There are spoilers coming so keep that in mind if you haven’t seen it. And since rares/epics progress so much slower, avoid cards like Satyr/Naga which rely on a chanter that won't be able to keep up with the team if you want to play it safe.We talked a bit about Netflix’s upcoming Redeem Team documentary here which debuted Saturday. Add a 4th you like such as Treant, Skelly, Knight for decent damage/health or go for more high damage/low health like Goblin, Bomber, Fox. Those 3 are the main core of most 3000+ trophy decks. To me that means: Barbarian, Bezerker, Yeti. I originally put it together because it satisfies a lot of personal quests (healing, enchants, 1 epic, 2 rare) but I average about 9 wins per challenge with that deck and have won Majestic with it several times.Īs for ladder, I think you need to find the heroes that have decent to above average health but can still deliver some "homeruns" in damage. To each their own.Īfter a lot of experimentation, I found a deck I really like that I don't see much at all. I suck with that deck but it's one that gives me fits when I go against it. A couple other posters suggested Shaman/Blacksmith/Vampire/Frost Fox. You can really find a team that works for you and a style you like. Commons are the easiest to level, rares and epics basically take forever to compete at a higher level ladder.Ĭhallenge decks are much more open because all levels are capped. ![]() You have to look at synergy and combos, as well as what you have the levels for. Long story short, there are definitely decks that are way better than others. However they’re definitely stronger than average decks. Both decks have pretty good synergy with each other but both can also be shut down if played against correctly. Currently, the stronger challenge decks I use are shaman/blacksmith/wolf/vampire and kong/paladin/priest/frog. After nerfs you don’t see this one much anymore. One of the most broken ones before nerfs was zombie/golem/giant/striker because the strike combos with the whole team. Most of the time, commons are the way to go since they scale the best and are easiest to unlock (Rares and epics are good but take a ton of time/money to get to a high ladder level).Ĭhallenge decks vary depending on patch notes. Also, challenge decks and late game ladder decks are completely different, cards scale differently after challenge level.įor late game decks, take a look at top players. Satyr/enchantress or zombie/naga for example. When creating a deck, you want to look for strong combos. Sadly, like all games, every card isn’t equal in strength. ![]() There are definitely decks that are more optimal.
